ABSTRACT
Smart systems powered by GIS and geospatial technologies (remote and proximal sensing, positioning systems, ICT and IOT, etc.) are increasingly used for an efficient monitoring, analysis, management, regeneration and planning of rural and periurban areas and green systems. Studies covering such topics contribute to support land management, from the definition of plans and policies, to the monitoring of their impacts.
TOPICS
The special session welcomes contributions focusing on theoretical or methodological issues, case study applications, and novel approaches, addressing smart systems, survey, sensing, analysis and modeling applied to many topics, including, but not limited to:
- rural heritage study and management;
- ecosystem service inventory and assessment;
- land-use and landscape features and structure analysis;
- rural structures and infrastructure analysis and management;
- land suitability assessment;
- rural land management and planning;
- urban green systems management;
- multidisciplinary subjects cross-cutting more topics.
